Bio

Roxanne Felix

I could put in one of those “template” bios that I use in my works of fiction, but then what would be the fun of going to a website?

So, here are some random facts aboutĀ  me. I’ll changeĀ ’em up once in a while.

I was born and raised in Alberta. My parents immigrated from the Philippines. My first published work was in Grade One, where I wrote a book of poetry, and my father brought it to work and typed it up for me. The book became one page after it was “typeset”.

I journalled my whole life … not realizing this was training for writing. I wanted to be a writer, then a journalist, then a zoologist in the African serengeti, then a doctor … then reality hit and I became a public health researcher. And after that was all done, I realized I wanted to be a writer again. I started to take myself and my work seriously … and now I’ve ended up here.

I write mostly adult short stories, speculative fiction, and young adult fiction (fantasy). I also love creative non-fiction as the best stories come from real life.
